Prayer Card

Please pray that today is a good day and that all of the kids and relatives get along well. That when stepmom geut his ome from work there is peace and harmony and they can all have a good Saturday evening together. So far, fairly good . Please also pray that I can get my air conditioner fixed so I can leave the house to get groceries and other essential things. A man who is a friend of our family does mechanic work as his regular 9:00 to 5:00 job and has been trying to get by to work on it for over a week but hasn't been able to fit it in for some reason or another. I am 70 years old and my husband and myself have extreme heat sensitivity. He is on hospice and insist on keeping me room temperature in the bedroom over 90° because he is constantly cold. I end up sleeping on the hospital bed they provided in the living room, which works out pretty good since it's about 70 in the living room at all times. But I can't leave the house even to dash to get something to serve for dinner because I immediately start vomiting and getting dizzy from the heat inside our van. I believe it is a simple fix for our vans air conditioner. It has worked very well during the month we've had this vehicle. Please also pray for our 11 year old grandson who has started to visit the home of someone he befriended this first week of school. That it's a safe environment and has the proper supervision so they can all enjoy their friendship. This is his first friendship outside of his immediate family. Please pray that my son and his wife and all of the other four children in the house, younger and older than him, can get along amiably. That he can finally go shopping for some school clothes with his mother who only sees him on weekends for a day or so. My son and his wife bought over $500 in school clothes and supplies for the youngest two boys, but there wasn't enough money left when it was time for the 11-year-old to get his. School was only for Wednesday Thursday and Friday this week, so it was no big deal. I managed, as his grandmother, to get him a really nice new shirt and two pairs of athletic shorts, plus 90% of last year's clothes are still in brand new condition and he's never even worn some of them at all. He is hard to shop for, because he is much bigger than all the other kids in his class, but when he looks at clothing and reads the tag which says Large or 14/16, he doesn't realize that he needs a men's small to medium not something in the little boys section. I hate to see money wasted on things that won't fit him because he thinks he's smaller than he is and that sizes are accurate to ages when you read label. Please also, please, please, help my husband have some better days coming. He's been extra confused and his oxygen's been low plus he's producing more phlegm in his throat that he doesn't seem to be able to cough out. He was doing really well about a week ago and then out of the blue things changed, as they've done time and again. He hasn't been sleeping, just repeating that he's hungry even when he has just eaten, that he's in pain after he has had his pain medicine, and when I asked him if he is having any pain or if he's hungry he says nope, that he's doing just fine. And then goes back to repeating all of the things that sometimes actually do make him uncomfortable. Please pray for me to have the wisdom to know what to do about all of these things, and the strength to follow through with the nebulizer treatments and insulin shots and all of his little pills, because I suffer from depression and exhaustion and I'm autistic as well just like my grandson. Please pray we can get to the bottom of what has caused the changes in his mental status, whether it's a UTI, or an exacerbation of his congestive heart failure, blood pressure, dementia, and severe COPD. Please pray for me to be a better wife and to keep smiling and being optimistic in front of him so that at least whatever life he has left as among those who act positive and keep smiling in the face of every adversity. I have never in my life been able to feel positive about anything, ever. From the moment my mother found out she was pregnant with me, from all the times she did cruel things to me, and abandoned me to be raised by my dad, who was the most amazing father and human being to ever walk the earth. I thank the Lord every single day that I survived what my mother tried to do to me and that God blessed me with such a wonderful father. There are days when it is hard for me to even look at my husband of 54 years and still be kind to him after all the years of narcissistic abuse and the fact I was 15 and he was 23 when he insisted that I marry him. I'm a grown woman now and I hold my own and he can no longer use his narcissistic tendencies against me. I've outgrown that many years ago and he's not that person anymore. But my memory is still very clear and it's hard sometimes for me to wait on him hand and foot just because he's very ill and it's my duty as a wife I guess.
