Please pray that my brother listens to me about his 9 year old son. My little nephew had diarrhea for two days followed by a specific type of rash. Everything points to a viral illness that will pass on its own. But, my brother is going to throw away all of their clothes and bedding, and is cleaning their room with all kinds of toxic chemicals. Scrubbing the child down with oatmeal and other ridiculous things that aren't helpful. I feel sorry for my nephew. The diarrhea has stopped thankfully, but the skin rash is still there. The school called about it. He is so stubborn. I'm a nurse, not a doctor. My brother is in a manic mood and won't listen to anyone. The most likely diagnosis, considering ALL symptoms, is viral illness or reaction to a food, drink, etc. I just pray it resolves itself quickly, even though my brother will be convinced it was his crazy 'solutions', but it will at least give the boy relief. Please pray he can learn to take advice from myself or go to a doctor. He's being obnoxious to everyone, especially our mother. She's very intelligent and has a LOT of experience.
