Please pray for our ex daughter-in-law, Victoria and their family. Her father, Reynaldo Almager, has been home on hospice for about a week. She had taken off to her sister Adrianna's house out of the blue about a month ago, violating her parole by removing her ankle monitor. He also lives there with them, 5 or 6 children under 12, and Adrianna's husband and the husband's brother. He was doing ok, but he recently had to be hospitalized due to sudden worsening of liver disease. After a little while, the hospital discharged him because there was nothing more they could do. His organs were all shutting down, even though he had just turned 50 in March. This evening we called her, so Leo, our 8 year old grandson who is her son could talk to her. He is so hurt by the fact she ran off again, but is starting to understand that this is just the way she has always coped with life, and that it doesn't mean she doesn't love him. It's so hard to see his heart hurt though. He is my youngest child, Sean's son. I raised him from age 2 months as my own while Victoria was in prison, until she came out when he was 4. Not too many months later, they divorced and Sean remarried. I'm still very involved in Leo's life. He will always be like a son to me in my advancing years. Moreover, Victoria will always be in my heart like a daughter, faults and all. She told us this evening that her dad, Rey, is only semi-conscious and having the 'death rattle' today. The hospice nurse that comes twice a day says he will pass soon. She is beside herself with grief, they were very close. They have no idea what to do with all of the practical details that will have to be dealt with. They are struggling with finances and there's no other family to really help them figure anything out. As far as emotions, Victoria is struggling the most. Please, Lord Jesus comfort her. Please help the children who've lived with him this last year and are witnessing his death minute by minute all week. Please Lord, take him home peacefully and give the whole family peace in knowing they did all they could. He definitely felt loved. Victoria, as always, has been the only one to go to him when he's needed help. He has a son, Rey Jr. who has had a lot of difficulty forgiving him for his childhood. There were lots of problems over the years.
